The Q-PAC MPF is a smart fan, and the Fan Controller is the brain that makes it possible. It talks to every motor, tracks performance, measures airflow, and keeps tabs on system health with built-in alarms. Adaptive Frame

Most fan arrays are built in fixed increments, leaving gaps that must be blanked off in the field to finish the pressure wall. The Q-PAC Fan is different; its sheet metal panels are custom-fabricated for every order, allowing it to serve as the air handler’s pressure wall with no extra fabrication. It mounts directly to the existing flange, or with included Perimeter Angles if no flange is present.

Functionality

The Fan Controller is the single connection point for both power and control with no field wiring required. Each motor plugs in with pre-wired harnesses that snap directly into the Controller. It’s fast, clean, and built to eliminate on-site guesswork.

A microcontroller with four primary connections, the Fan Controller board is the brain of the Q-PAC Fan, connecting control signals like analog speed and Modbus. It supports fan alarms, tracks motor status, and provides real-time airflow data.

Motorized Impeller Interface Boards

Each motor has its own PCB, housed within the Fan Controller and pre-wired to the Fan Controller board. These boards include plug-in connections for motor power, control, and a pressure transducer linked to the push-connect port.

Interlocking Panels

The Fan Frame is engineered for strength with interlocking A653 G90 galvanized steel panels. Structural C-channels and bracing flanges nest together and lock tight using self-drilling screws, creating a reinforced frame that stands up to the job without added bulk or complexity. It’s durability by design. No welding, no guesswork, just a rock-solid structure built to install fast and last long.

Frame Harnesses

Each motor harness connects to the Fan Controller through a custom-built Frame Harness designed specifically for the Q-PAC Fan. Power, control, and pressure sensing run through clearly labeled cables, all bundled in a UL VW-1–compliant sleeve for safety and durability. Every connection terminates in a simple plug or push-connector. No stripping, no terminals, and no twisting wires in the field. Routed along pre-punched paths and secured with push-mount cable ties, the harness delivers clean, fast, and foolproof installation.

Plug Fan Mounts

Each plug fan mounts from the downstream side using pre-installed rivet nuts with no back access or extra brackets required. Built-in sheet metal ledges support the fan’s weight during install, making one-person replacement both possible and practical. These ledges also double as mounting points for the Frame Harness, allowing for clean wiring and simple reassembly.

The Q-PAC Fan Frame is built for speed, assembled entirely from the downstream side using self-drilling screws and pre-punched holes. The same fasteners secure the panels to each other and to the Perimeter Angles, so there’s no sorting hardware or switching tools. All you need is an impact driver and a hex bit. It’s streamlined, sturdy, and built for real-world installs.

Motorized Impeller

A single, integrated assembly where the impeller mounts directly to the motor rotor, without using belts, pulleys, or external drive components. This direct connection delivers efficient airflow in a compact, streamlined design.

Motor Harness

A pre-wired adapter that links the plug fan’s motor to the Frame Harness. It includes separate cables for power and control, plus a pressure tube for reading differential pressure across each inlet cone, all wrapped in a UL VW-1–compliant protective sleeve.

Inlet Cone

The flow-directing component mounted at the intake of the plug fan. It guides air smoothly into the impeller, reducing turbulence and improving efficiency. Airflow is calculated by measuring the pressure drop across the cone.
