QUIPS re-launches with a user-centric update to Q-PAC’s fan selection software

Originally launched in 2018, QUIPS was a major step toward reducing the complexity surrounding commercial fan systems by allowing our customers to configure our fan products to meet their application’s requirements, generate product documentation, and get a live quote on demand - finish projects on your schedule. This next phase of QUIPS will take the platform to the next level with updates designed to enhance user experience and streamline project management.

At Q-PAC, we are committed to innovative solutions that simplify the user experience. With QUIPS, our goal has been to provide a seamless interface for configuring and quoting our fan products. However, increasing growth and ever faster product development has prompted a renewed approach to the structure and management of QUIPS. With this update, our primary focus is to align QUIPS with our product software for consistency and efficiency, ensuring faster updates and a smoother user experience.

Key updates include:

Quote Creation:

We’re streamlining the quoting process by unifying the project and quote. Creating a selection in your project will automatically add it to your quoted total. You will no longer have to assign products to a quote to get pricing and generate documents. Additionally, you will have the ability to toggle off and on the inclusion of products in the quote.

Alternates:

Complex projects may require users to explore multiple possible systems to determine the optimal fan configuration for their system. To improve this experience, we’re introducing “Alternates,” allowing users to select multiple different potential configurations under the same system name/tag.

By default, the first alternate will be selected as the “primary” alternate, included in the quote. This feature will add more clarity on project costs by enabling users to select the primary configuration for inclusion in the quote

Document Access:

Accessing project documents has never been easier. With documents now accessible from the main project view, users can quickly retrieve essential documents such as 2D CAD drawings and assembly diagrams without navigating through individual system views.

Special Requests:

We're acknowledging the similarity of many of the special requests we receive and integrating designated "request types" accordingly. Depending on the selected request type(s), you may be prompted to provide specific details to enhance processing efficiency and prevent delays.

This data will also contribute to the potential standardization of certain request types. Upon release, QUIPS will offer choices for dimensional and layout modifications, enabling users to specify desired dimensions and vertical offsets for their fans.

FEI:

The Fan Energy Index (FEI) is now integrated into QUIPS, allowing users to view and sort configurations based on energy efficiency. This initiative aligns with our commitment to sustainability and helps customers select the most efficient fan solutions.

Looking Ahead

This update is just the beginning of our journey to create a more comprehensive and user-friendly experience with QUIPS to support our products from quotation to installation and operation. In the future, users can expect integration with our Support platform, additional features to support fan owners and operators, and improved user feedback mechanisms to ensure continuous refinement and enhancement of the platform.
